New to us recipe: Zesty BBQ Chicken

As part of my 101 in 1001 days I am trying one new recipe per month. Tonight we tried a crock-pot meal from allrecipes.com. I like their site because I can choose recipes that many people have tried and rated. I do hate when people give it 5 stars, but then when you read their review they have drastically changed the recipe/ingredients - so I tend to read the reviews.

I chose the Zesty Slow Cooker Barbecue Chicken. I did use dark meat (8 legs) rather than breasts since my kids and husband prefer dark meat. I have to say the picture on allrecipies is not that appealing. I guess it is supposed to look more like pulled pork sandwich, but because of the high stars/reviews I tried it anyways!

It was a hit! I was worried at first because the sauce was watery, but we didn't have any leftovers! The boys said it was the best meal we have had in awhile. Now that is a compliment. I even used fake mashed potatoes (instant) and we had baked beans. There was not a morsel left on the table and my 8 year old is pretty picky!

I should have thought to have taken a picture (since the one on Allrecipies looks gross) but the natives were too hungry to wait for a picture!

Ingredients:
6 breasts frozen - I used 8 legs
1 12oz bottle of BBQ sauce - I used Kraft original
1/2 cup Italian dressing
1/4 cup light brown sugar
2 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce

Directions: place chicken in slow cooker, mix sauce ingredients and pour over chicken, cook on high for 3-4 hours or low for 6-8 hours.

Here is a picture from Courtney on Allrecipes that looks more like what I prepared:
